Please read carefully before using this site.

Effective Date: January 12, 2021.

DOCOMO Innovations, Inc. (“DOCOMO Innovations”, “we”, “us”) has long recognized that individuals with whom we conduct business value their privacy. However, in order to conduct global business in this increasingly electronic economy, the collection of information is often necessary and desirable. DOCOMO Innovations is committed to implementing measures designed to protect the privacy of those using our services and visiting our website.

In order to provide our online services, we collect information from our customers and website visitors (collectively “Visitor”). This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) governs your interaction with our website, as well as your registration for and use of our online services. Except as set forth within this Privacy Policy and the terms of service associated with this website and our other services, we do not release personally identifiable information about our Visitors without their consent.

If you decide to provide us with personal information about yourself while using our website, registering for, using of our online services, or otherwise engaging in activities that are covered by this Privacy Policy, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Please note that DOCOMO Innovations reviews its privacy practices from time to time, and that those practices are, therefore, subject to change without notice. We ask that you bookmark and periodically review this page to ensure continuing familiarity with the most current version of our Privacy Policy.

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

DOCOMO Innovations collects two types of information about Visitors:

(1) Non-personally identifiable information: When Visitors come to our website, we may collect and aggregate information indicating, among other things, which pages of the website were visited, the order in which they were visited and which hyperlinks were clicked. Collecting such information involves the logging of the IP addresses, operating system and browser software used by each Visitor to our website. Although such information is not personally identifiable, we may be able to determine from an IP address a Visitor’s Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of his or her point of connectivity when available.

We may also use “cookies” – that is, small text files placed on a Visitor’s computer hard drive – to help us determine the type of content and sites to which a Visitor to our site links, the length of time each Visitor spends at any particular area of our website, and our services Visitors choose to use. Cookies also tell us which advertising, if any, a Visitor has seen on our website. Cookies allow us to serve you better and more efficiently, and to personalize your experience at our website. Nevertheless, you should be able to control how and whether cookies will be accepted by your web browser.

(2) Personally identifiable information: DOCOMO Innovations may request that you provide us with personally identifiable information (including, for example, first name, surname, street address, email address, telephone number, resume, education and work experience, and, when applicable, credit card information) if and when you register for or use our online services, correspond with us via email, submit applications for employment through our website. We may also direct you to register for services through a third-party authenticator, in which case we may be able to access your email address, if any.

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children (defined herein as minors younger than eighteen (18) years of age) without obtaining parental consent. Before registering for any of our services, we ask that children have their parents read our Privacy Policy. Before and during the registration process, we encourage children to include a parent or guardian in the process.

We do not control the acts of its Visitors. All Visitors should be aware that, when they disclose personally identifiable information in a bulletin board, chat room, guestbook or other forum, the information may be collected and used by others to send that person unsolicited email from other parties outside DOCOMO Innovations.

HOW WE USE (AND DO NOT USE) THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the different ways DOCOMO Innovations uses the information that it collects. Keep in mind that, while we encourage all third parties involved – including but not limited to its affiliates and advertisers – to adhere to our policies regarding the privacy of our Visitors and to otherwise handle personal information in a responsible manner, we cannot and do not assume any responsibility for any actions or omissions of third parties, including the manner in which they use information received either from DOCOMO Innovations or independently.

(1) Non-personally identifiable information: DOCOMO Innovations uses non-personally identifiable information in aggregate form to build higher quality, more useful online services by performing statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of our Visitors, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of our website. We may provide statistical information based on this data to advertisers, affiliates, and other current and potential business partners. We also use the aggregate data to inform these third parties as to the number of people who have seen and clicked on links to their websites.

Our website contains links to other Internet websites, including co-branded or other affiliated sites which may or may not be owned or operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites, including such websites’ use of any information (such as IP number, browser type or operating system) collected when Visitors to the DOCOMO Innovations website click through links to those sites.

(2) Personally identifiable information: DOCOMO Innovations provides notice to potential registrants and Visitors that personally identifiable information will be collected during a process of the registration or otherwise engagement in an activity that is covered by this Privacy Policy.

We may use personally identifiable information that you provide us or that is collected through our online services for providing and managing our online services, responding to Visitor inquiries, offering new services, improving the effectiveness or efficiency of our services, marketing, advertising, administering promotions, and achieving other business purposes as permitted under applicable law.

We may also use personally identifiable information to “pre-populate” forms which are displayed for the purpose of collecting personally identifiable information by us and/or our sponsors. In no case does pre-populating a form automatically transfer any information to any advertiser or third party. Only if the Visitor voluntarily requests that such information be transferred will any transfer take place. For example, a transfer may take place if and when a Visitor clicks a “submit form” button or other button.

DOCOMO Innovations will not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose personally identifiable information about our Visitors to any unaffiliated third parties except as otherwise provided herein.

We reserve the right to release information to external service providers to perform certain services on our behalf to improve the effectiveness or efficiency or our services, and these providers have agreed to use the transferred information solely as necessary to perform the service in accordance with our instructions and subject to appropriate nondisclosure limitations.

We also reserve the right to release information contained within our access logs concerning any Visitor when that Visitor is in violation of our Terms and Conditions of Use or other published guidelines, or partakes (or is reasonably suspected of partaking) in any illegal activity, even without a subpoena, warrant or other court order, and to release such information in response to court and governmental orders, civil subpoenas, discovery requests and as otherwise required by law. We cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who may be using our servers or services for illegal activities. We also reserve the right to report any suspected illegal activity to law enforcement individuals or entities for investigation or prosecution.

We may sell or otherwise transfer all or a portion of our business or assets to a third party as we continue to improve our product and service offerings. In such transactions, Visitor information (whether non-personally identifiable or personally identifiable) may constitute one of the transferred business assets. We reserve the right to release such information to such third party.

If and when DOCOMO Innovations sponsors promotions or sweepstakes, or third parties sponsor promotions or sweepstakes in conjunction with us, either we or the third party will post relevant privacy information in the official rules and/or registration area for the promotion or sweepstakes. That privacy information, to the extent it conflicts with this Privacy Policy, will govern that particular promotion or sweepstakes.
